What is Vitamin C?
While going through our daily routines, we unknowingly subject our skin to a variety of harmful substances that are a product of our environment  –  everything from cigarette smoke, UV rays, car exhaust, pesticides, and air pollutants. Highly unstable and reactive, these free radicals latch onto skin cells, weakening them as a result. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that is featured within many skincare products to help protect skin against the cellular inflammation, precancerous changes, premature aging, and long list of other unwanted effects that result from long-term exposure. As we age, we’re more likely to lose our supply of Vitamin C and the protection it offers, so it becomes more important that we seek it out, both through diets rich in antioxidants and through our skincare routine.

How do Vitamin C serums help?
Aiding in your skin’s natural regeneration process, Vitamin C helps to neutralize free radicals and repair the damaged skin cells left behind. But it doesn’t just stop at being a powerful antioxidant, it also helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and inflammation, as well as, even out skin tone, brighten your complexion, and promote the production of collagen and elastin. Using it daily will leave skin looking tighter, brighter, and more youthful.

How to incorporate it into your regimen?
You’ll want to look for skincare products that feature L-ascorbic acid, the most stable and effective form of Vitamin C. Opt for serums that come in dark bottles or tubes, because exposure to light, air and heat can affect the longevity of the product. You’ll also want to look for a concentration level that’s between 10-20% – any less and it’ll be more difficult to notice its effects and any more will leave skin irritated. Due to Vitamin C’s potency, it’s better to start out with a lower concentration and work your way up. You’ll only need a few drops for it to do its job.

Apply it in the morning after cleansing and toning to help your skin recover from past exposure, while also protecting it from damage throughout the day. Using it in conjunction with your Deminuage NanoPen will make your Vitamin C 20x more effective. Please note that if you have sensitive skin, you’ll want to try it on a test area beforehand.
